A contact is a parent or guardian attached to a subject. Contacts have their own email, phone, login, and notification preferences, so a mother and a father can each receive reminders and each sign in to book or reschedule for their child. A subject can have up to two contacts.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| First Name, Last Name, Job Title | Job title is optional and mostly used for commercial subjects. |
| Email, Secondary Email | Must be unique and must not match the subject's own email. An address already used by another subject, contact, or employee cannot be added. |
| Phone, Secondary Phone | With optional extensions. Used for SMS. |
| Login Access, Password | Whether the contact can sign in. Leave the password blank to let them set it from the welcome email. |
| Receive Email, Receive SMS | Channels this contact accepts. |
Roster imports accept Contact One and Contact Two columns for name, email, phone, and password. A parent's email in the Subject Email column is a common mistake; put it in a contact column so the parent gets their own record. To change a contact's email on a later import, map the old address to Contact One Previous Email and the new one to Contact One Email.
A parent with two students at the same school can be a contact on both subjects, using the same email each time. They sign in once and see both children.

When a family says they are not receiving emails, check three things on the subject: the contact's email spelling, the contact's Receive Email toggle, and the Notifications tab for a bounce.
