A record channel is a chat channel attached to a job, organization, subject group, or task. It is created from the record with one click, brings in the people already assigned, and is listed in its own section of the Airchat sidebar so the conversation is always one step from the work.
| Record | Where | Who is added |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Open the job from the schedule and choose Chat, then Create Chat Channel | Every employee assigned to the job, plus you |
| Organization | Organization record → Create Chat Channel | You. Add account managers and anyone who works the account. |
| Subject Group | Subject Group record → Create Chat Channel | You. Add the team working that program. |
| Task | Task → Chat Channel section → Create Channel | You. Add the task's assignees. |
Airstudio asks you to confirm before creating. Each record can have one channel; once it exists the button becomes Open Chat Channel.
Record channels sit in the sidebar under Job Channels, Organization Channels, Subject Group Channels, and Task Channels, named after the record. They behave like any other channel: threads, files, live chat, notifications, and settings all work the same way, and members can be added or removed afterwards.

Create the job channel when the schedule is confirmed, not on the morning of the shoot. Assigned staff see it as soon as it exists, and the call sheet, map, and parking notes have somewhere to live.
