Retouching applies professional photo edits — color correction, background removal, skin retouching, teeth whitening, glasses glare removal, cropping and more — to the photos in your Airstudio library. Run edits from the web app on photos you have already uploaded, or install the Airstudio desktop app to retouch photos straight from your computer, including automatically through hot folders that watch a directory and retouch everything that lands in it. Your original photos are never modified; every retouching produces new files. Retouching is billed in credits.

📋 Overview

There are three ways to retouch photos. All three use the same edits, the same profiles and the same credit balance.

Principles that apply everywhere

Originals are never changed. Every retouching creates new files; the source photos stay exactly as they were.
Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG and WebP. The desktop app additionally accepts camera RAW files, which it converts on your computer before upload.
One credit per photo, plus surcharges for advanced edits. Credits are charged only for photos that were successfully retouched.
Edits run in a fixed, optimized order regardless of the order you turn them on, so results are consistent from job to job.
Print resolution is preserved. Edits are applied to the full-resolution photo; embedded color profiles and camera metadata are carried over.

🚀 Retouching on the web

1️⃣ Open Retouching

Choose Retouching in the main navigation. The page walks through four steps: Select Photos → Choose Retouchings → Retouch → Review Results.

You can also start from Files: check the photos or folders you want, then choose Actions → Retouching. The Retouching panel opens with your selection already loaded, and you can move and resize it while you continue working in Files.

2️⃣ Select photos

Browse your library and check individual photos, whole folders, or both. Only JPEG, PNG and WebP images are listed; other file types are filtered out. Choosing a folder includes the images directly inside it — not the contents of its subfolders. Choose Choose Retouchings to continue.

3️⃣ Choose retouchings

Profile — optionally start from a saved profile. Choosing a profile turns on its edits and options; you can still add or remove edits before running. Custom Edits starts from a blank slate.
