Retouching applies professional photo edits โ color correction, background removal, skin retouching, teeth whitening, glasses glare removal, cropping and more โ to the photos in your Airstudio library. Run edits from the web app on photos you have already uploaded, or install the Airstudio desktop app to retouch photos straight from your computer, including automatically through hot folders that watch a directory and retouch everything that lands in it. Your original photos are never modified; every retouching produces new files. Retouching is billed in credits.

Retouching is currently in beta. It is fully usable, but some behaviors may change as the feature matures.

There are three ways to retouch photos. All three use the same edits, the same profiles and the same credit balance.
| Method | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Web app | Retouching in the main navigation, or Actions โ Retouching in Files | Photos already uploaded to Airstudio; one-off or occasional jobs |
| Desktop app โ New Retouching | Airstudio desktop app for macOS and Windows | Photos on your computer, including camera RAW files; results saved back to a local folder |
| Desktop app โ Hot Folders | Airstudio desktop app | Hands-off, high-volume workflows: every photo copied into a watched folder is retouched automatically |
Principles that apply everywhere
Choose Retouching in the main navigation. The page walks through four steps: Select Photos โ Choose Retouchings โ Retouch โ Review Results.
You can also start from Files: check the photos or folders you want, then choose Actions โ Retouching. The Retouching panel opens with your selection already loaded, and you can move and resize it while you continue working in Files.
Browse your library and check individual photos, whole folders, or both. Only JPEG, PNG and WebP images are listed; other file types are filtered out. Choosing a folder includes the images directly inside it โ not the contents of its subfolders. Choose Choose Retouchings to continue.
